The heart of man is unfortunately divided. Man either focuses on God, or self. Unfortunately self wins out a lot, even in those that appear to be doing things for the Kingdom. There is a war of sin going on in all of us and as David Paul Tripp states “…the battle ground is in our hearts.”
But God knows the true hearts of men and our actions will be weighed by Him. So in all that you do do it for the Lord!
As Christ teaches us, we cannot serve two masters…
“No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.” (Mat 6:24 NIV)
